Education: a solution and the way out of a difficult and challenging way of life in Cambodia.

One of the many struggles children in Cambodia face is a lack of access to a good education. The state-run schools have few resources or supplies and have exceptionally large class sizes. There is no enforced attendance and families must provide their own school uniform and supplies. Many families living in poverty are unable to send their children to school because they cannot afford these costs. Instead they allow their children to work in order to provide another source of income for the family.

Generation after generation of children don’t attend school and repeat this cycle of poverty that is endemic to Cambodia. Since so many children in Cambodia never complete grammar school, let alone a higher education, they have no access to avenues to a better life, that are available to most of us in the developed world.

From the beginning we identified education as one of the key areas we could impact in Cambodia. When we can provide funding that gives children access to an education, we are changing the trajectory of their lives and often the lives of their family too. It’s the “hand-up” in life they need to truly flourish. The future of this nation depends on this young generation and their ability to lead this country toward a growing and sustainable economy and a more robust future.

It's our pleasure to introduce several young people who currently benefit from our scholarship program. These are young adults with great promise and a desire to learn, grow, and contribute to the future of Cambodia. We provide the financial support they need to complete a college education and pursue their dreams for the future. We’re so blessed to give them this opportunity to blossom and grow into the young women and men who will change this nation for the cause of Christ. Would you join us in prayer as we support these young people?

Your support in caring for and educating these young people is so important to their future and to the future of Cambodia. Our hope and prayer is that this important program will continue to expand as additional finances come in to provide more scholarships. Thank you for all you do in praying for and supporting the work of Cambodia Impact!

Blessings in Christ,

 John & Linda Grover
