After much prayer and preparation, Britton and Kristy Filbrun along with their four children (Gracie, Brysen, Carter and Savanah) packed their bags, said their goodbyes to family and friends in Ohio and made the long trek to Cambodia. They arrived in Phnom Penh in July 2018 excited to begin a new chapter in their life story.

The Filbruns arrive in Cambodia

The Filbruns and the Grovers in Cambodia

While their journey toward international missions work started many years ago, their contact with Cambodia Impact began in October 2015 with a phone call by Britton to introduce himself. That call led to many discussions and an investigatory trip to Cambodia in October 2016 to see the work being done and to meet our ministry partners there. After much prayer the Filbruns joined the Cambodia Impact team as missionaries to Cambodia.

Upon arrival in Phnom Penh, and after several months of intense study at language school there, the Filbruns joined our work in Battambang, six hours north of the capital city. Working with our local pastors they helped install water wells and sanitation facilities, and assisted with Bible studies in the villages. Deep friendships developed as they lived and worked among the Cambodian people.

After a fruitful and busy four years, the Filbrun family is home now. They are on furlough until mid-summer, to take a much needed break to rest and refresh, catch up with family and friends, and prepare for the next chapter of their journey. Later this year they will return to Cambodia to work with a different ministry in another part of the country. We wish them all the best and will keep them in our prayers as they continue to pursue ministry as missionaries to Cambodia. Please join us in praying for God’s best as they follow Jesus and his call on their lives.

Grace and peace,

John and Linda

Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen. (Ephesians 3:20-21)
